The best diesel car in india-Chevrelot Beat

The best diesel car in india-Chevrelot Beat

Beat diesel7 Chevrolet Beat Diesel – review

The Beat concept was designed and built leveraging GM's Global Product Development process, created from best practices around the world that integrate design, engineering, powertrain and manufacturing organizations to ensure each vehicle program meets its quality, timing and business targets, yet is responsive to the needs in regional markets. The production model of Chevrolet Beat carries the spirit of the expressive Beat concept, offering compact, city-friendly dimensions and a small-displacement engine that delivers excellent fuel economy.

With the petrol prices giving nightmares to average Indian drivers, the general interest in diesel cars are raising and the diesel sales figures are shooting up. So, Chevrolet launch of its diesel variant of Beat has comes at right time and is all set to rev up the diesel segment.

Interiors:

If you were expecting something more here, then you are to be disappointed. Still no beige option, the Indian favorite, only black has been offered. So, its got to be only the entire black trim that would be available for all the Beat diesel customers.
The interior of Chevrolet Beat is functionality dedicated and the most striking design element is a motorcycle-inspired dynamic meter cluster. The refined interior provides also upgraded functionality with features such as headrests that can be vertically adjusted up to 65 mm, carbon film-heated seats and various storage places. Pattern-printed semi-bucket seats of Chevrolet Beat provide a stable feeling when cornering. With high-quality materials and exceptional craftsmanship, they also enhance the luxurious interior atmosphere. An exterior-color-matched instrument panel and door trim will be offered in red, blue or silver which enhances the unified design of the interior and exterior.

Exterior:
Beat diesel colors Chevrolet Beat Diesel – review

Chevrolet Beat's dramatically sized headlamps that literally stretch from the front fascia to the back of the hood, with clear polycarbonate lenses and chrome-coated bezels, resemble diamonds, adding an upscale appearance and glamour. A window line that is slanted dynamically upward, an arching roofline and sharp sidelines bring a sporty yet edgy look, a rarity in the segment. Secret vertical rear door handles located in the C-pillar are another unusual feature. They give Beat a unique, sporty three-door coupe appearance without sacrificing five-door utility.

What you'll like:Funky styling inside & out. Unique superbike-inspired speedometer too
• Excellent urban driveability from the diesel engine. Effortless to drive within city
• Vibrations surprisingly well-controlled for a 3 cylinder engine
• Equipment levels identical to the petrol. Full safety kit (ABS & Airbags) available
• Compliant ride quality. No bumpiness like other tall-boy hatchbacks
• Well packaged interiors (for 4)
What you won't:• Motor lacks top-end punch. Not a sprightly highway performer at all
• Gruff engine note at higher rpms
• Compact 170 liter boot. 50 - 60 liters smaller than competition
• Very dull dark-grey interior shade. No beige option yet
• Some goodies missing (keyless entry, height adjustable driver seat)
• Small rear window creates a claustrophobic ambience at the back

All About New Maruti Suzuki Swift

NEW MARUTI SUZUKI SWIFT

The new Swift comes in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol version has a 4 cylinder, 1197 cc engine delivering a peak power output of 87PS@6000 rpm, and torque output of 114NM@4000rpm. The diesel version has a 4 cylinder, 1248cc engine delivering a peak power output of 70PS@4000 rpm and torque of 190NM@2000 rpm. Both Swift engines come with 5 speed manual transmission.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is probably the best selling premium hatchback in the country. Its ‘bubble’ styling was an instant rage and now after all these years, the Swift is going in for its first major makeover. To be offered with both new age petrol and diesel engines, the Maruti Suzuki Swift promises to be a fuel efficient hot hatch that takes its styling to a new level.

More than six years after Maruti launched the Swift in the Indian market , the company has launched its first proper upgrade – the all-new Swift. The current or the outgoing version was the leader in its segment and the new one betters the old one in all parameters. Priced from Rs 4.22 lakh to Rs 6.38 lakh and available in both petrol and diesel versions , is the all-new Swift worth the wait and the hype? Bunny Punia has the answer!

Comparison with old Maruti Swift

The old Maruti Swift Diesel had a 4 cylinder, 1248cc engine with power of 75PS and torque of 190NM. The petrol version had a 4 cylinder, 1298cc engine delivering power output of 88PS and torque of 113NM. It can be noted that in the new version, the diesel engine has been retained with similar metric whereas in petrol, a lower capacity engine with almost the same power has been used to ensure best of power and better mileage.
The mileage of both variants has improved a bit versus the old variants. This is mostly attributed to lower weight in the cars.

New Maruti Swift not only poses great and stunning looks but the car is fully equipped with a world class technology and advanced features that makes the car a great performer and very economical to run on roads. This is one reason of huge and growing demand of New Maruti Swift even after 6 years of its presence in India. Recently, new Maruti Swift has clicked 50,000 bookings till August 2011. New Maruti Swift comes in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol version of the car is packed with 1.2 L, 1197 cc K series engine. The K series engine mated to a 5 Speed Manual Transmission gearbox and it complies with BS IV emission standards and offers great performance in terms of power, torque and acceleration. The diesel version is packed with 1.3L, 1248 cc DDiS engine which offers better combustion and fuel efficiency.

Look:

Suzuki it seems wanted to keep the same legacy and heritage of the original Swift and hence the design hasn’t been radically changed. First look and you will almost mistake it for the old one. However , spend a few seconds and you notice the changes. For starters , the new Swift is longer by 90mm , wider by 5mm and has a 40mm longer wheelbase too. The head lamps are bigger and stretch further back into the body. The top end versions get gorgeous 15-inch alloy wheels , the bumpers are new and the tail lamps too get a better treatment. On the whole , the new Swift certainly looks younger and modern and should be well accepted by new customers.

Interiors: The increase in wheelbase and width of the car means that one of Swift’s worst shortcomings of interior space has been addressed to an extent. There is more kneeroom for rear passengers and finally , the Swift can take in five passengers with ease. The design of the console and fascia is something that strikes you immediately – the steering design too is changed. Infact , there are far more changes on the inside than the outside! The Panasonic sourced audio system for instance looks smashing and so does the speedometer console. However , the overly black theme remains which might not be to everyone’s liking. This is one area where Maruti should have worked – lighter colors always impart an airy feel to the interiors. Other changes include the newly designed front seat , driver information display etc. To summarize , the interiors gain space and new age design though are overly black!

Engine , performance , economy: The new Maruti Swift comes with the same engines are before though with slight changes. The petrol engine is the same KB12 series unit that displaces 1197cc with 87PS of power and 114Nm of torque. The unit is refined and now gets variable valve timing. It also sports better fuel economy too with an ARAI rated figure of 18.6kmpl  - same as the Chevrolet Beat petrol. The diesel unit is again the same Fiat derived unit though with slight changes. It develops 75PS of power and 190Nm of torque with ARAI rated economy of 22.9kmpl – something that is still not close to the likes of the Nissan Micra! Maruti surely have disappointed the enthusiasts by not offering the bigger 1.6-litre engine – something that both Skoda and Volkswagen offer in the Fabia and the Polo respectively! The Swift continues to come with a 5-speed manual transmission

Verdict – The all-new Swift goes on sale at a starting pricing of Rs 4.22 lakh (LXi variant) , going all the way upto Rs 6.38 lakh (top end ZDi). The break-up of the variants is
LXi – Rs 4.22 lakh
VXi – Rs 4.76 lakh
ZXi – Rs 5.53 lakh
LDi – Rs 5.17 lakh
VDi – Rs 5.61 lakh
ZDI – Rs 6.38 lakh
We feel the pricing is on the higher side here. The rivals are either cheaper or at the same level - for example the new Honda Jazz is priced at Rs 5.5 lakh for the base model that is as loaded as the Swift ZXI but has more space , is more practical and ofcourse has better quality as well.
On the diesel front , one needs to wait for three months (minimum) for the Swift diesel variants and suddenly the whole equation , doesn’t really look very tempting! However , fingers crossed , let’s see if the new Swift will indeed be a Swifter seller or not!

10 Promising Free Web Analytics Tools

Web analytics is the process of gathering and analyzing your web content’s data in order to glean meaningful information about how your site is being utilized by your users. There are plenty of Web analytics applications out there, and you probably already know the big guns such as Google Analytics, Crazy Egg, and remote-site services such as Alexa and Compete.
We go off the trodden path and explore a few lesser-known Web analytics options. In this article, you’ll find 10 excellent and free tools and applications to help you gather and analyze data about your web content.

1. Piwik

Piwik is an open-source Web analytics application developed using PHP and MySQL. It has a "plugins" system that allows for utmost extensibility and customization. Install only the plugins you need or go overboard and install them all – the choice is up to you. The plugins system, as you can imagine, also opens up possibilities for you to create your own custom extensions. This thing’s lightweight – the download’s only 1.9MB.

2. FireStats

FireStats is a simple and straight-forward Web analytics application written in PHP/MySQL. It supports numerous platforms and set-ups including C# sites, Django sites, Drupal, Joomla!, WordPress, and several others. Are you a resourceful developer who needs moar cowbell? FireStats has an excellent API that will assist you in creating your own custom apps or publishing platform components (imagine: displaying the top 10 most downloaded files in your WordPress site) based on your FireStats data.

3. Snoop

Snoop - screen shot.
Snoop is a desktop-based application that runs on the Mac OS X and Windows XP/Vista platforms. It sits nicely on your system status bar/system tray, notifying you with audible sounds whenever something happens. Another outstanding Snoop feature is the Name Tags option which allows you to "tag" visitors for easier identification. So when Joe over at the accounting department visits your site, you’ll instantly know.

4. Yahoo! Web Analytics

Yahoo! Web Analytics - screen shot.
Yahoo! Web analytics is Yahoo!’s alternative to the dominant Google Analytics. It’s an enterprise-level, robust web-based third-party solution which makes accessing data easy especially for multiple-user groups. It’s got all the things you’d expect from a comprehensive Web analytics tool such as pretty graphs, custom-designed (and printable) reports, and real-time data tracking.

5. BBClone

If you’re looking for a simple, server-side web application that doesn’t rely on third-party services to monitor your data, check out BBClone – a PHP-based server application that gives you a detailed overview of website traffic and visitor data. It supports language localization for 32 languages like English, Chinese, German, and Japanese. It easily integrates with popular publishing platforms like Drupal, WordPress, and Textpattern. Since it’s logfile-based, it doesn’t require you to use a server-side relational database.

6. Woopra

Woopra - screen shot.
Woopra is a Web analytics application written in Java. It’s split into two parts which includes a desktop application for data analysis/exploration and a web service to monitor website statistics. Woopra has a robust user interface, an intuitive management system that allows you to run it on multiple sites and domains, and even a chat feature so that you can gather non-numerical information by talking to your site users. Woopra is currently in beta and requires you to request for a private beta registration.

7. JAWStats

JAWStats - screen shot.
JAWStats is a server-based Web analytics application that runs with the popular AWStats (in fact, if you’re on a shared hosting plan – AWStats is probably already installed). JAWStats does two things to extend AWStats – it improves performance by reducing server resource usage and improves the user interface a little bit. With that said, you can’t go wrong with just using AWStats either if you’re happy with it.

8. 4Q

4Q - screen shot.
A large part of Web analytics deals with number-crunching and numerical data. Raw numbers tells only part of the story and it’s often helpful to perform analytics by way of interacting with actual users. 4Q developer Avinash Kaushik puts it perfectly when he said: "Web analytics is good at the ‘What’. It is not good at the ‘Why’".4Q is a simple surveying application focused on improving your traditional numerical Web analytics by supplementing it with actual user feedback. Check out this YouTube video on how easy it is to set up 4Q.

9. MochiBot

MochiBot - screen shot.
MochiBot is a free Web analytics/tracking tool especially designed for Flash assets. With MochiBot, you can see who’s sharing your Flash content, how many times people view your content, as well as helping you track where your Flash content is to prevent piracy and content theft. Installing MochiBot is a breeze; you simply copy a few lines of ActionScript code in the .FLA files you want to monitor.

10. Grape Web Statistics

Grape Web Statistics is a simple, open-source application geared towards web developers. It has a clean and usable interface and has an Extensions API to extend and customize your installation. It uses PHP for the backend and you can run it on any operating system that runs PHP.
